- Today is the day I took my little sapling to the office. My plan for this little guy is to have a nice desk plant that I can attentively shape. If your curious about my 3d printed planter, I do plan on sharing the design after I finish some tweaks with the lighting. It will be located at GOC3D

Bonsai: Day 0001 - Propagating the tree

- Today is the day I took a clipping from my grandfather’s weeping ficus/fig tree.

1. Before clipping I watered the parent tree with a rich mix of “Superthrive” a week beforehand.
2. When I took the clipping I choose a nice green branch, then trimmed off all but two leaves.
3. Using some rooting hormone and a razorblade I made a clean 45° cut and immediately dipped the end in hormone.
4. I then used a toothpick to pre-punch a hole into the soil and then planted the new sapling.
5. I followed this up by watering with a “Superthrive” mix
